Chico is one of Northern California’s most unique little cities combining the spirit of a modern university town with the aura of lush forests of the Pacific Northwest. Chico boasts warm weather throughout most of the year and makes it an ideal location to rent a camper van and go exploring.
Chico, often known as the City of Roses, is a busy yet quaint city in northern California with a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Bidwell Park has an observatory, a golf course, and plenty of hiking and mountain bike paths. Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park is a 2,200 acre park that extends over ten miles long from the heart of the town into the foothills. The Gateway Science Museum is an engaging, hands on museum with Ice Age bone exhibitions and is fun for kids and the entire family. There are many RV campgrounds close to Chico. Plumas National Forest is located a short drive to the east of Chico and has quite a few campgrounds hidden throughout the park for an excellent camper van rental adventure. Chico has nice weather for most of the year except for winters, which can be a bit cold but still remains an ideal location for camping and Class B RV rental camping. As with any area in the Pacific Northwest, the forests are pristine and available for anyone to take in a natural beauty that is present everywhere.
