In the heart of California, at the foothills of Sierra National Forest lies Clovis. Known for its quiet charm and proximity to several well-known cities and Yosemite National Park as well as seaside towns that offer breathtaking views it has become one, if not the best place in California to visit in a camper van rental.
Clovis has a wealth of outdoor activities that are perfect for those looking to get outside. You can cycle, hike or run along Clovis's many trails in the summer months when temperatures allow it. There is also plenty on offer if you prefer something indoors like museums with insightful exhibits, and art galleries showcasing various mediums from around the world. The town of Clovis was founded in 1891 and has the oldest downtown area (formed in 1912) still standing today. This historic district is known for its restaurants, cafes, some that were established back when it first opened, shops including antique stores, and specialty retailers like local mom and pop outfits who sell their goods right from home on front porches. The Wild Water Park in Clovis offers a plethora of exciting and engaging water related activities. The quarter million visitors it receives annually can attest to this, with plenty of options available for slides or pools that will keep them cool during the summer months. Clovis is a great area to rent a camper van.
