Boulder, CO is known for some of the best rock and ice climbing in the country. It’s no wonder that climbers, hikers, mountaineers, and alpinists from around the world flock to the peaks of Boulder. There are the formidable Flatirons in town, Eldorado Canyon to the south, and Boulder Canyon to the west. It would take a lifetime to experience all the outstanding and awe-inspiring climbs here. Boulder Creek has been named one of the ten best lazy rivers in the country. It’s a popular spot to rent a camper van and go tubing in the summer and there are several places in town to buy a tube then glide downstream. There is even a section of Boulder Creek near Eben G. Fine Park that offers a 20 salon gate course for kayakers to hone their paddling skills. Kayak rentals are also available. In winter, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are popular activities available on nearby trails. For downhill skiing and snowboarding head to Eldora Mountain Ski Resort, a short 30 minutes away from downtown Boulder. There are ten lifts and eight terrain parks on 680 acres at Eldora. Skiers, snowboarders, cross-country skiers, and snowshoers, are all welcome and an easy drive with a camper van rental.
