Before 1850, gold was already discovered in Montana. It brought pioneers to the area and created some early settlements.
John Bozeman, a man from Georgia, opened up an Indian trail in Montana and named the city after himself. This, unfortunately, led to war between settlers and native tribes like Sioux and Cheyenne as this was land that they had been using for centuries before.
The Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman has one of the largest Tyrannosaurus skulls to have ever been discovered.
