Ashland summit, giving you views of the Rogue Valley and Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest to the North, as well as amazing vistas looking south towards California's Shasta-Trinity National Forest where Mt. Shasta stands at 14,180 ft elevation. Rent a camper van to visit all of the surrounding area.
The Pacific Crest Trail leads north to the nearby Cascade Siskiyou National Monument - a perfect place for those who love nature and want an adventure. This area is home to 3500 species, including 125 of Oregon's 160 butterfly species!
The town was originally named Ashland Mills, after the home of founder Abel Helman and secondarily for nearby city Ashland, KY.
Ashland is located at 1,949 ft (594 m) above sea level in the foothills of the Siskiyou and Cascade ranges.
