Solar-panels, Li-Ion battery (200 AH) with 12V and 110 V electrical system plus shore power? Check! Rent this great vehicle for these and so many more “pride of ownership” details.

Gualala (pronounced WAH-la-la), a small Northern California town, was named by the Native American Pomo tribe meaning “where the water flows down.” Our van was named Gualala the EcoSprinter after we had driven the van through this beautiful coastal town. The town’s free spirit, beautiful coast, and natural landscape are the inspiration behind Gualala the EcoSprinter!

Gualala the EcoSprinter has been lovingly built over two years. The owners made sure every little detail possible to ensure your comfort was included. And for those thinking about fuel efficiency on a long journey, the Mercedes-Benz Turbo diesel engine gets up to 22 miles per gallon!

This is a high roof van so you can stand upright (up to 6’1”) to cook dinner on the double-burner gas stove with built-in propane tank or the induction cook top. There’s a removable dinner table (walnut live-edge), a slide-out cooking platform for outdoors cooking, ample storage, lockable drawers, and even a bolted-down safe to store your valuables.

You’ll be able to enjoy a good night’s rest on the full-size futon bed. When the futon isn’t being used as a bed, use it as a couch for reading or lounging about. And to add to the fun factor, bring along your bikes (or rent them; we can make a bike rack available upon request).

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook up a feast. You’ll find knives, forks, spoons, mugs, wine glasses, utensils, large, medium and small pots, large and medium skillets, salad bowl, colander, cutting board etc. There is also a high-efficiency Dometic fridge/freezer with a built-in ice maker – so that your perishables stay nice and cold, and you can enjoy that lovely sunset with a drink!

The EcoSprinter has a 20 gallon water tank with electric pump that feeds the faucet (removable wash basin) as well as an outdoor, heated shower (good for about 9 minutes of showering..). Yes, there is a heated shower; these are rare in most camper vans. You’ll probably want to take lots of showers! Note that the water can be refilled by a regular water hose.

To keep you warm at night, a high-efficiency heater provides heat (running off the main diesel tank at ~0.1 gallons/hour). In the summer a fan and screened window keep you cool.

Safety features include a backup camera and a gas & carbon monoxide alarm.

This cozy van truly has it all; now it just needs you! 😉

Pick Up and Drop Off

Rentals are Calculated on a 24-hour Basis: The rental period is generally considered to be 24 hours. If you pick up the van at 10 am, you’ll be expected to return it around 10 am. Most van owners can accommodate requests for a few extra hours at $20/hour. Alternatively, if you want to pick up in the morning and drop off in the evening, simply select the optional half day add-on when completing your reservation.

Pick Up and Drop Off Time: There is no set pick up and drop off time. You’ll make arrangements suited to your needs and schedule with the van’s owner. You can indicate your preferred pick up and drop off time when completing your reservation; final arrangements will be confirmed with the van’s owner.

Location

Insurance

Insurance coverage includes $1 million in liability to the renter, $1 million in liability to the van owner, and comp and collision coverage up to $200,000. Insurance coverage starts at $49.50 per night. Prices may vary by vehicle and location.

Roadside Assistance

We make 24-hour roadside assistance available for $15 a day. Coverage includes: towing, flat tire assistance, emergency fluids delivery, battery boost, and a mobile mechanic. Many van owners require 24-hour roadside assistance as part of the rental. Where coverage is mandatory, you must either purchase our policy, or show proof of comparable coverage, including 1) RV towing and 2) towing distance of 100+ miles.

Mileage

125 miles per night is included in every rental. Additional miles are charged 35 cents - $1 per mile depending on the vehicle. For example, on a four-night rental, you will have 500 free miles. If you traveled 600 miles, at 35 cents a mile you would pay an additional $35 at the end of your trip.

Security Deposit

We'll place an authority to charge $1,000 - $1500 (vehicle dependent) on your card two days before your rental starts. The authority to charge is released, less any additional fees, usually no more than seven days after you return.
