Pick up Emmylou PDX in Portland
Emmylou PDX is the same all-wheel drive 2003 Honda Element outfitted with a Cascadia Vehicle Tent (CVT) that we also refer to simply as Emmylou. The only difference is that Emmylou PDX is available for pick up in Portland, while Emmylou is picked up in Bend, Oregon. For rentals that originate in Portland, a five-night minimum rental is required.
This set up is sweet! Just like in your own personal tree house, you’ll be up off the ground and in the stars; unzip the tent flaps and let the night sky be your entertainment.
Emmylou PDX is packed and loaded with everything you’ll need to turn this car into a camper. The tent up top is quick and easy to deploy, and the mattress inside is much bigger than you’d expect.
The CVT rooftop tent comfortably fits two adults. Possibly two adults plus one or two small children… the tent is rated for a maximum 400 lbs.
As for camping, all the cooking, eating and camp gear you need is included. Your job is simply to pack your bags and rent this camper van, er … car!
Emmylou PDX’s owner is an event marketer who has traveled widely throughout the west coast; he’s always ready with an inside tip on where to go, and might even have a private camp spot or two up his sleeve for you. He’ll go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time.

All vans are considered “road trip ready.” Whether you are flying in from out of town or looking to explore your own backyard, all you really need to do is stop for groceries before hitting the road. All cookware and tableware is included, as is bedding and a wide array of camping gear. You’ll be sent a detailed list of all the items included in the van before your trip so you can plan accordingly. Select any of the optional add-ons listed below when completing your reservation.

Pick Up and Drop Off
Rentals are Calculated on a 24-hour Basis: The rental period is generally considered to be 24 hours. If you pick up the van at 10 am, you’ll be expected to return it around 10 am. Most van owners can accommodate requests for a few extra hours at $20/hour. Alternatively, if you want to pick up in the morning and drop off in the evening, simply select the optional half day add-on when completing your reservation.
Pick Up and Drop Off Time: There is no set pick up and drop off time. You’ll make arrangements suited to your needs and schedule with the van’s owner. You can indicate your preferred pick up and drop off time when completing your reservation; final arrangements will be confirmed with the van’s owner.

Cancellation Policy
Standard cancellation policy: You can reschedule your trip one time in the same van with no penalty up to 48 hours prior to the rental. Requests to reschedule a trip a second time will incur a 5% rescheduling fee. You can cancel your reservation for a full refund, less a 5% service fee, up to 14 days prior to the rental. If you cancel less than 14 days prior to the rental, you will receive a refund for 50% of the rental fee. Cancellations must be made in writing. We are unable to offer refunds for shortened trips if for some reason (e.g. weather, change in schedule) you return the vehicle early. If we cancel the reservation you will receive a full refund.
One-way trip cancellation policy: One-way trips cannot be rescheduled. You can cancel your reservation for a full refund, less a 5% service fee, up to 30 days prior to the rental. If you cancel 15 – 29 days prior to the rental, you will forfeit 100% of the one-way fee and receive a full refund on the remaining reservation line items, less a 5% service fee. If you cancel less than 14 days prior to the rental, you will forfeit 100% of the one-way fee and receive a refund for 50% of the remaining rental fees. Cancellations must be made in writing.
